... but those
who hope in the
LORD will
renew their
strength. They
will soar on
wings like
eagles; they will
run and not
grow weary,
they will walk
and not be faint.
About CCCMD College/Grads Ministry
The College/Graduate Student group is the newest group at CCCMD.  After
graduating from High School, many of our young people either go away for
college or stay in state at UMCP, UMBC or MC.  Previously, those in
college or graduate school were simply lumped into the Youth Group.
However, it is obvious that these young adults have very different needs,
struggles and goals than those in Middle School or High School.  So in
July 2006, we started CCCMD’s College/Grad Group.

We meet on the third Saturday evening of every month at the Chew’s
home.  We share a meal together, fellowship together, worship together,
study God’s word together and pray for each other.  Each meeting is
different depending on the needs of those attending.  As a small group
in a small home, the meetings are casual and comfortable, and everyone
participates.  That makes it easier for us to welcome our unbelieving
friends.  Once each meeting is over, it’s hard for us to leave because we
love simply being together.

Many of those in the College/Grad group are now serving as Sunday
School teachers or Youth Group leaders.  They are constantly giving out to
those younger than them.  Our prayer is that the more we as a group can
spiritually strengthen and encourage each other, the more we can
strengthen and encourage our younger brothers and sisters.  It’s not easy
serving the Lord in this generation, but we are here to support each other
and keep each other accountable.

The College/Grads group is also for those that grew up in CCCMD and have
now moved out of state for school.  They have a place to come back to,
and a group that will always connect them to their home church.   We
constantly pray for those that are out of state, and are thrilled when they
return home.

Acts 2:46-47 “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple
courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and
sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And
the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Although this College/Grads group was created so we can praise God and
enjoy fellowship with each other, we believe God will use this group to
bring salvation to other college and graduate students.  We do not want to
blend into this world, but we desire to stand out as salt and light and make
an eternal impact.
